Andersen replacement sash balancer is used on narroline double hung windows manufactured from 1968 to 2012. Used with 1852 1856 even 2042 2046 24310 2832 and 30210 units with tempered glass. A balancer or window counter balance maintains the position of your window sash. Sash balancers are metal boxes that contain a nylon cord under tension.

If you have andersen double hung narroline windows that were manufactured between 1968 and 2012 that will not open or stay open then the sash balances may be broken and need to be replaced. All my windows use the 939 narroline. The balancer number is a code for the tension and the cord length. Unlike most other window manufacturers andersen typically uses a unique type of counterbalance commonly referred to as an andersen sash balance.

We recommend that you replace both balancers along with the window side jamb liners. Andersen 200 series tilt wash balancers are located on the sides of both the upper and lower window sash.
